The loser's a winner
The whole school went down to watch the soccer boys today for their championships! It was a great match to watch, with my heart threatening to go into arrest at certain points of the match. And guess what? With a score to 2-3, we got second! Hmmm actually I personally don't have any regrets, it's just like your asking a Olympian silver medallist how he/she feels-- MJ is proud about her loss, (even though a win is still much deserving for us) because we saw how our soccer team fought, and they were doing their very best, so much so that the score was at 2-2 at half-time. It took VJ a good 30+ minutes to get their crucial goal in in the 2nd half, and even during the last 2 minutes of the match, our side tried to get a goal in, and it missed by just a cm into the goal post. So 2-3, tough luck?Maybe. But ability-wise, we're definitely even, if not better. I am sure our team knows that they really deserved it, and already did their best-est, which is why I think they didn't cry when the match ended. And another thing was that we cheered our hearts out there at the stadium, right up till the last note of our college anthem. Hah call it a show of my school spirit. Still, congrats to VJ. We played graciously, we lost graciously. Anyway, last year I heard VJ deserved the cup, but still they lost to us, so this year, it's our turn, since we totally deserved it, but yet lost it still. Well actually I don't mind, as long as we take turns to win every year, fair enough. And just like Mr Chua said, "We haven't lost, we're only postponing the championship to next year." :D
