The CNY post! :D
Warning:Super long post ahead
I am back from KL!!! :/ hmmm this somehow feels surreal. Everytime I come back from KL, i get this surreal feeling, and I don't know why.-shrugs- Maybe it's cos I don't want to come back or something x) MAYBE only. We set off in the wee hours of saturday morning (around 1 am) for JB,(because we knew there'd be a jam the next day with the everyone-want-go-back-to-MY-from-SG rush for new year.)In the end, there was still a jam at Causeway still =.= but it was pretty much lighter than what could have been 10 times worse in the day,(heard from my father's friend that he reached Causeway at 9.30am and started queueing and only reached Malaysia at 2 plus O.O)and so, we reached my maternal grandparents' house in JB at around 3am plus, and hit the sack straight. 12 hours later and a meal there later, we were on our way on the North-South Highway towards our destination:KL!
The smattering countryside view that you get while travelling on the NS highway <3

We are at the 125km mark(??!!) when our journey is 320km long. Hello, we are not even halfway!
We reached KL, and went to my 2nd aunt's condo at Bukit Utama(BU). We cooked 3 crabs(2 died on the way to KL ): so we had to eat it fast while 1 was in critical condition, thanks to the ants which bit it so we shortened its suffering)Btw, my father(being the enthusiast that he is) actually brought 12 LIVE crabs along with us, in a styrofoam box. He bought it 3 days before we went to KL. 1 died the next morning in our house(murderer:ants again) plus the above 3, we had only 8 crabs left. The same night we arrived in KL, after eating crabs, my 3rd uncle and his wife brought my mum,me and bro(dad and 2nd aunt was lazy to go but insisted we packet the food back for them)to the same roadside stall in Pudu that we first went in (Dec last year) to eat the ever-delicious yin yong, hei mian, special soup etc, which is best in KL! x) They were betting it wasn't open cos it was so near to CNY, but of course it was! I calculated carefully already! :D We were 1 day before the Reunion Dinner day what.

For the Reunion Dinner the next day, we had steamboat! But before that, we ate a soup dish called Buddha-jumps-over-the-wall(i also don't know why the name is such)cooked by my father and 3rd uncle(a chef-ly combination). Served in 12 bowls- each had 2 abalones(small), 1 scallop( my cousin got 2 cos she was lucky), mushrooms and dried oysters.

Abalone slices- I sponsored 1 can using my pay ok!

Buddha-jumps-over-the-wall! delish!
MY small abalone! <33
On the 2nd day of new year, our family gathered to lou yee sang(捞鱼生), which is you know, you take a pair of chopsticks and toss the dish high xD Your hands may get pretty messy, but it's kinda fun!
You see abalone slices on top and it's all neat before we toss!
Aluminium foil all over the table-for easy clean up due to the mass area that will be messed up as a result of our super-enthusiastic tossing x)
Messy chopsticks--I chionged(like everyone else did) to take the abalone slices by "digging" for them through the mess, which literally covered the whole dining table o.o
We also sang karaoke at Redbox and went bowling! :D
At the carpark after returning from bowling! From foreground--My cousin Jian Ching(JC), me(in red), my cousin Yenn Yinn(YY) beside, and my 2nd aunt.My bro was hiding somewhere...we look out of shape cos of the mirror xD
Followed by a delicious dinner cooked by chefs again! My 1st aunt, 1st uncle and his wife(my cousin's mother). This is why I say I shouldn't stay too long in KL because I will get fat- too much good food and nutrition!

And plus there's the authentic Asam Laksa from Alor Setar made by my 1st aunt(who was taught by my grandma, the original creator and my 1st aunt WILL teach me! xD) It is a family dish, super healthy and maybe even no fat, since there's no oil or coconut milk, just pure ingredients like fish(boneless) and some spices. She raised my father and his siblings successfully together with my grandfather(whose pay was meagre) partly because she sold her laksa too. People can testify to its delicious-ness! Like jy and ld and yt who have tried it x) (lucky them, cos my grandma doesn't come to SG everyday and happen to cook asam laksa.Mostly, it's my 1st aunt who cooks it now.) She always cooks a big pot because there's overwhelming demand for it!

Now you know why I love KL xD Hopefully i can make it back for tomb-sweeping day this april.
School's reopening next week already :O But we have yet to know which school we are going to! I must enjoy myself thoroughly, cos it will be another 2 years before I get to enjoy my hols like this again. ): Got to help type a parent's letter for my bro's sch because he took a day of leave from sch in order for us to stay in KL a day longer. And hopefully! I'll get into the sch i want :DD
