Squeezeeee!
Today has been a super... what should i say...squeezy day?Let me tell you how it all exactly happened. You know the Channel 8 show Little Nyonya(小娘惹)that airs on weekdays at 9? Yea the show had a fan meet today at Compasspoint and what did I do? Go there and squeeze with the masses(masses = people of EVERY age. I really mean every.) There were aunties yakking away loudly in hokkien, ah mas complaining about the crowd, teenagers trying to elbow each other just to get in front, even little kids flanked by their mothers grumbling. You name it, you have it. Basically, everyone was participating in the come-let's-see-whose-neck-is-longer competition.Either that or the you-tiptoe-lean-on-me-become-tall-I-tiptoe-lean-on-somebody-else-become-taller competition. When we(me,ld,yt) arrived, the area near the stage was already full of people. All we could see was nothing but heads (black heads, brown heads, white heads etc...once again you name it, you have it.) So we made a decision to go to the second floor, which was once again, CONGESTED with people. We had to keep squeezing and jostling. Everybody was pushing like nobody's business. My poor flimsy hand-carried bag, was squashed and squeezed like crushed paper. Thank god it's flimsy. If not it would not have broken into pieces right on the spot. If you were right in the front, you could really feel the FORCE (of the masses) with you. All just to catch a glimpse of the stage(and later actors.) My height(plus tiptoe), just enabled me to catch a snippets of the stage in between people's heads. Ld and yt later on gave up, and escaped to the library, and because I could see, I remained there(inhaling all those stale human "fragrance", and mind you, we were all sweating. Later on, due to good luck, I managed to get a position right before the bars on the second floor, which gave me a view of the whole first floor.During the whole experience, I could hear an auntie behind scolding a lady behind too.
Auntie: "Squeeze what squeeze, never see got young one in front ah!"(which was the auntie's son)Poor lady.
Thank god I managed to hold out. Ld and yt later on came to look for me(after the event was almost over) and we went to the first floor. Once again, by a spot of good luck, we caught the time whereby the actors/actresses were leaving and we happened to be standing right where a path was cleared for them to leave, so we were right beside the "path". Some idiots even treated yt's head like a table for propping their handphone-held hands and rested their hand right on her head, while ld was struggling to fight off the people leaning onto her while they tiptoed =.= I was much fortunate, only experienced the wave of energy of the push by the crowd, but still not enough to topple me. While they were leaving, I managed to shake hands with some artistes such as Darren Lim, Pan Ling Ling, Joanne Peh, Ng Hui and a few others. xD Below are some pictures of the chaos.

This is Pan Ling Ling, but due to the super force experienced by the over-enthusiasts, this was the best i could do :X

Then after that, we went to shop around at sembawang music and watsons. And that rounded off a day of pushing and squeezing. Below are some tips to help you in future if you ever decide to go for star-chasing sessions like this.

1. Wear comfortable heels to add height to yourself. Then you will surely be in a good place for the come-let's-see-whose-neck-longer competition.
2.Do not bath before you go. This is because in the end, when you go home, you still have to bath extremely thoroughly due to contact with all sorts of people and sweat.(Plus you never know when the "fragrance" around you may come in handy when squeezing)
3.If possible, bring a foldable chair. You can stand on it if you want, and sit when you are tired.
4.BE there early if you don't want to participate in the competition mentioned above in (1).

The theme song of Little Nyonya will be aired this few days on my blog, in memory of such a "memorable" day.Enjoy...
