2nd day at work! :D
2 days since i started working officially! It feels pretty good, being what they call an assistant teacher, even though i am mostly the marker of papers sitting beside the teacher who marks and teaches at the same time. At times, it really feels like a chore with time passing slowly, but when i see those little doe-eyed kindergarten and primary sch kids come in for tuition, and the cute questions they ask, time passes super fast. Here's a rough example of the sometimes hilarious situations that occur
Wide-eyed innocent kid(comes up to me and asks in a kiddy voice): Teacher, how to do this?
Me: Errr..... ask teacher Sandy*
(since i am not exactly qualified and allowed to teach)Teacher Sandy: Wah so fast go to new teacher already ah
(the teacher and I laugh together)Wide-eyed innocent kid, still doesn't know what's going on
(moves towards the teacher): Teacher, how to do?
Teacher Sandy: I don't want to teach you
(joking)Wide-eyed innocent kid
(stares at teacher, confused and blur, and continues to stare, still lost)-Teacher finally teaches the poor, lost kid.I think my working environment is not bad, at least compared to some of my friends' experience in restaurants. Whenever i am hungry, i can run to the teachers' pantry and grab some drinks and cookies.I can also use the teachers' extra clean toilet, and there's no scoldings during mistakes, partly because i am new too, but i am fine as long as i don't repeat the mistakes! For first time mistakes, the people will tell us (albeit sometimes a bit gruffly but still not fierce so ok!)
I am not complaining! :D
